add Xp to 2nd hard drive on new Vostro with pre-installed Vista ?

I have a dell Xp re-install disc and Dell drivers from my previous Dell PC which presumably would work, but the procedures I’ve read elsewhere where look scary. I don’t want to have to remove & reinstall Vista as I don’t feel confident …
